Question: Hello, My girlfried got her tonsils removed late december 2016. She has not been getting sick and feel way better then before but the concern is loose tissue that has formed or grown in the back of her throat that is uncomfortable. Can I send a photo. It has been there for 2 months now and just wondering what it may be.

Brief Answer:
Tissue tag

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
I have seen the picture. It is a tissue tag left over during surgery. It will cause repeated gags and due to swallowing it might get stretched and elongate. It is quite thick so won't fall of on its own. It has to be cut. Please visit your ENT surgeon and consult him.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
TISSUE TAG

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the follow up query
Tissue tag after tonsillectomy can be mucosa or a remnant which can cause soreness in throat. At the same time the soreness can be allergic also. Ask her to use hexidine gargles and drink plenty of water. If the symptoms don't subside within few days, please contact me again.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Takecare
Thanks and regards
