Foot pain

Good evening

Thank you for writing on health care magic

I would like to know a few more queries before guiding you further:

1. Location of pain..Is it on the heel area or the sole of the feet or in the ankle joint?

2. When you wake up in the morning and keep the foot down, is it worse or better?

3. Any other problems you are having..Blood pressure or diabetes??

Do let me know these queries. Location of the pain is most important as it gives us a clue on where the etiology lies and how to manage further

Sorry for the delayed reply. Had a long duty today

Well, the sort of pain you are having is more of Osteoarthritis along with plantar fascitis...Since there is no pain at rests, it rules out any inflammation in the joints..

I would suggest you following tests, which if you can get done would give us a clue to your diagnosis:

1. X ray of both ankles and feet(AP + Oblique View)
2. Ultrasound of your feet--> TO look for plantar fascitis

As per the precautions:

1. Try using sports shoes on routinely basis. Avoid any heel wearing
2. Consult a physiotherapist and work on muscle strengthening exercises for the ankle joints. Since the joints get weak with age, we need to strengthen the muscles around so they can provide a better support.
3. Avoid heavy exercises or frequent climbing stairs
4. In mornings and evenings( after work), dip you feet in hot water for 5-10 minutes. It will give the muscles relief from the spasm
5. As for the pain, Ultracet or Tylenol are your safest bet as they wont harm the kidneys or liver

I hope the information was useful

Do let me know for more queries
