Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Arms

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jan 2017
Question: My right arm became unusable due to severe pain whenever I move it, try to lift anything, brush my teeth, cook, clean house, etc etc. The pain seems to have started in my elbow this morning and by evening I couldn't use it without extreme pain. I tried to put an ice pack on it which didn't seem to help. Is there such a thing as a dislocated elbow? I'd been having a constant, deep pain in an area between my shoulder blades for over a week...and now that pain radiates all the way down my right arm to my wrist. The pain now is constant without any activity and I can't sleep. I didn't have a fall or anything just a lot of Christmas present wrapping and Christmas card writing. Thank you for ;your help. I live 50 miles from a clinic and/or
hospital.

Brief Answer:
Tennis Elbow.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

Pain you are explaining at elbow ia due to over work.

You are having Tennis Elbow, its common in people who do weightlifting and prolong writing.

In this condition the tendons near elbow joint are teared or sprained.

This is not dislocation of elbow.

Pain near your shoulder blade and the radiation of pain is due to cervical spondylosis.

So you can take cap. rabeprazole in empty stomach, aceclofenac 100mg + serratiopeptidase 15 mg three times a day.

Apply hot packs in neck and elbow region.

Avoid weightlifting and writing or screwing movement.

I hope it helps.

Thanks,

What are the three different items you are suggesting I take? Are they prescriptions? If so, can you write me a prescription?

Is it OK for me to continue taking the pain medication? What is the average length of time tennis elbow lasts assuming no writing? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Yes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your response.

I have recommended you salts of medicines.

You can note down as such and show to medicine shop, he/ she may give you the medicines.

Take medicines as I have advised you.

Empty stomach take cap. rabeprazole then avoid any food or medication for 45 mins.

Then take one tab. aceclofenac + thiocolchicoside combination in morning, afternoon and at night.

Take these medication for about 7 to 10 days.

Tennis elbow takes about 1 month to cure, so after 7 days your medication will be changed by me.

You may also wear tennis elbow brace, its to be remove at night.

Avoid writing for about 10 days.

Thanks,

Dr. CHANDER XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
