Suggest Treatment For Severe Nausea

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: I've been having bouts of nausea for the past few days, most noticeable after drinking Mexican coke bottle(s) or a Starbucks coffee (but not every single time). This hasn't happened before so I don't know what to think about it. Maybe a stomach ulcer or GERD?
I have an appointment with my GI doc in a month, but it's pretty annoying right now.

Brief Answer:
Yes it looks like stomach upset.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

Yes it in my opinion is stomach upset which is getting worsened by caffeine and acidic fizzy drink. Here is what you should do.

1) Avoid fizzy drinks, coffee..caffein ..tea..junk food..alcohol.. smoking (what ever is relevant)
2) Drink ample fluids.
3) Eat simple food with low meat content.
4) Walk for 15 minutes after dinner specially.
5) use syrup gaviscon it will help with stomach upset.
6) In my similar patients not getting relieved by gaviscon i would start PPI for example omeprazole 40mg a day and prokinetic like motillium twice a day this really helps.

This problem can easily be controlled with care and lifestyle change there is nothing to worry much.

I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.

Regards.
