Suggest Treatment For Severe Muscle Spasms
Question: My husband is on fentanyl patch 25mcg 72 hrs for about a month. He has severe muscle spasms or contractions in his legs and arms, starting at night, he can not sleep, it goes on for 8-10 hrs. He is currently delirious. Then it will stop for one or two days, he is not in pain like before he started, but this is a nightmare! Does he need bigger dosage or less? We are beyond witts end. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Firstly we have to find out the cause of these painful spasms. They could be due to deficiency of B-12, Calcium, Magnesium, vitamin E etc.
Were tests to identify this done?
At present please give him a good supplement with Calcium, magnesium, vitamin E and B-12.
Also give him Motrin with Omeprazole twice a day unless your doctor has said not to.
You can revert back.
