Brief Answer:
Give plenty of fluid, I won't suggest to give antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

Most common cause of loose motion in this age is some viral infection(if stool is not mixed with blood or mucus) and antibiotic is not needed in such condition.
Giving plenty of ORS and fluids with prebiotic and zinc supplementation is sufficient.
So I suggest you to avoid using antibiotic, give ORS and prebiotic(you may give Eubioz) . Also give zinc supplementation 20mg per day as it helps in early recovery . Metronidazole has a metallic test and very poorly tolerated by children. It may take 4-5 days for the stool pattern to get normal and I won't get overly worried for this unless there is dehydration.
Observe for signs of dehydration like shrunken eyes, letharginess or irritability, decreased urine output of frequent vomiting leading to poor oral acceptance. If you notice any please consult your pediatrician immediately.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Wishing for your child's speedy recovery.

Brief Answer:
You may stop the antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I am really sorry for delayed reply.
I don't think antibiotic is needed as stool is not mixed with mucus or blood(not suggestive of bacterial infection). You may stop the antibiotic even now as it is not needed.
Continue giving fluids, probiotic and zinc and watch for danger signs explained earlier.

With regards
