Suggest Treatment For Severe Hand Tremors

Posted on Thu, 11 Feb 2016
Question: I just experienced my hands started shaking pretty bad and then my whole body started shaking pretty bad. I ate some peanut butter crackers and 20 minutes later my daughter came and took my blood sugar and it was 120. She is a diabetic and says my sugar dropped. I have never had anything like that happen to me. Does that sound to you like that could be what happened? I still a little shakey but my whole body was shaking hard.

Brief Answer:
Most probably an anxiety attack.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM,

I read carefully your query and I understand your concern,

Blood sugar 120 it is not low. That value does not give shaking, on the contrary it is a very good value of sugar. The sugar does not drop unless there are people who are young with diabetes, or people who are already diagnosed with diabetes but under some particular treatments. So, 100% it is not sugar drop.

If the shaking has happened only this time, and not lasted much then it most probably has been an anxiety attack. In this case you don't need to worry about it, just try to identify the stressful factors so it would happen less rarely.
Get some fresh air, breath deep and slow, try to relax, talk with someone if something is concerning you and you are keeping it inside.

If it happens again, and if other symptoms appear, then you either need to consider seeing a local doctor, or let me know the newly information, so I can advise accordingly.

Hope this is helpful.

I made a mistake. My sugar was 102 about 15 or 20 minutes after I ate the peanut butter cookies.

Brief Answer:
Not possible to be sugar level drop

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

The normal values of blood sugar are 70-126, so the other value is still a value that is normal.

If would give shaking only if it was under 60, but as I explained above, that wont be able under some particular circumstances, so doesn't happen unless you take some particular medicines that lower a lot the blood sugar.

On the other side you have eaten cookies, so that would have made the suggar higher, not lower.

So again, it is impossible that that has happened because of a sugar level drop.

Hope I have answered your question.
If that is the case, please kindly rate and close the answer.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
