Suggest Treatment For Severe Discomfort In The Throat

default
Posted on Thu, 22 Dec 2016
Question: Hello,
I think I swallowed a small fish bone while eating. I do not have any discomfort in my throat, however I have pain on the left side of my chest (not in the middle of my chest). Should I be concerned? Thank you.

It's a bruised feeling. It only hurts when I turn to look at something behind me (that stretching action).

Brief Answer:
As discussed in details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Female/ 29 - suspected small fish bone swallowing - no discomfort in throat - bruised feeling on left side of chest when turning to look at something behind...
Fish bone once down the throat usually does not cause any problem and is either dissolved in gastric acid or engulfed into mucus.
As far as your symptoms are concerned, the pain is not central and there is bruised feeling only when you turn to look at something behind can be due to cervical problem or muscular strain.

So if there is no other symptoms you can relax at the moment and watch for development of any other symptoms.
I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
