Brief Answer:
Hip arthritis or necrosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query and understood your problem.

Considering your medical problems and the medication that you are on, you appear to be at risk for certain hip disorders like hip necrosis (prednisone) and hip arthritis.

I would advise you to use warm packs or hot water bottle if you find relief from the pain and stiffness. Avoid obesity by regular exercise healthy diet and good hydration.

Avoid smoking, alcohol, cross leg sitting, squatting, stair climbing.

It would be best to show to an Orthopaedic surgeon who will examine you to find out the cause of the hip pain, if it is hip arthritis or not. X-rays and MRI may be needed in most cases. Accordingly, the treatment will be started according to the cause.

Please follow the precautions as mentioned above for better relief. You need to control your blood pressure and cholesterol and get checked regularly because high cholesterol is a risk factor for hip necrosis.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
