Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain
Question: hello doctor, my wife has lower back pain. we recently did XXXXXX- XXXXXXX car trip and after that only it started. she can not sit for much time, either she has to stand or lay down. we tried applying moov but its not helping. Plz help abt the same.

1. It is probable that your wife is having muscle spasm in the lower back after traveling by car for a long distance.
2. This happens when the muscles go in to spasm due to sitting in a fixed position as in traveling a long distance. The exact cause is due to increased strain on the spine and discs when traveling in a sitting position for hours.
3. This pain usually stays for 3 to 5 days and the patient makes a slow recovery. If Moov ointment is not working then you can apply Relaxyl ointment gently for 3 to 4 times over the lower back. Please do not massage.
4. A hot water back at comfortable temperature can also be used when in sitting position to reduce pain. Heavy physical activity should be avoided other than regular daily activities.
5. If ointment is not working then oral pain relief medicine like diclofenac 50 mg twice a day after food can be taken twice daily for 3 to 5 days.
