Question: 22y/o. has had three schwannomas on left foot, I have nerve pain and constantly feel like someone stabbed my foot. I now have two growths on my rib cage that have the same pain.

I have had 3 schwannomas taken out of my left foot. what I'm asking is why would I still feel sharp pain in my foot?

Removal of Schwannomas involves damage to nerve cells

Detailed Answer:
The pain that you feel is called neuropathic pain. The Schwann cells ensheathe the nerve cells and the tumor involving Schwann cells is called Schwannoma. Thus Schwannomas necessarily involve nerves which are damaged when the Schwannomas are removed. Hence in spite of removal, you may still get the pain.
