Question: I developed rotator cuff pain after yard work two days ago and have been icing the shoulder and taking ibuprofen. It is less tender today but I still can't extend my arm above shoulder height. Should I get an MRI?

Brief Answer:
It is very early for MRI

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. You are having pain since two days so it is very early to get MRI. I would like to know little detail of your illness.
1.Are you having any history of trauma or fall on shoulder?
2.Are you also having stiffness of the shoulder?
3.Are you a Diabetic or Thyroid problem?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
thanks
