Question: Yes, on my left cheek there is an area about the size of a quarter coin that is flaky and scaly and the skin flakes off and has slightly red appearance to it. It feels rougher in surface texture than the surrounding skin.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM,
This looks like ring worm (fungal infection) to me.
Please get round shaving alum, wet it. And then gently rub the spot.
Follow by applying a ring worm cream with steroid in it.
Do this 2-3 times a day.
It should clear up.
Continue till a week after it clears up.
You can revert back.
