Question: I have an undiagnosed array of neurological issues including neuropathy, restless leg syndrome, nighttime involuntary muscle movement ( some with pain) , possibly hydrocephalus (doctors can't decide) . I'm 74, female, and on metropolol and levothyroxine only (plus vitamins, etc).

Brief Answer:
What is the chief complaint for which you are here?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

I am concerned that you are through so many health problems. But,you need to be precise here in putting up a query, that what is the chief issue for this query.

For what medical reasons, you are looking forwards to have a medical opinion here? I mean is it your neuropathy, restless leg syndrome or thyroid disorder, which is not under control and causing symptoms?

Are you on any treatment for neuropathy or restless leg syndrome?

Please follow up with relevant details so that I can answer your query better.

I would like to know the connectedness of each of these symptoms and whether I can anticipate any of them to get worse or become more painful. Specifically, if I'm seeing involuntary movment in my fingers like I'm experiencing in my legs, will I too experience the pain I'm having in the leg w/the restless leg issue? Is what I'm experiencing symptomatic of dystonia or not?

Brief Answer:
Restless leg syndrome may cause symptoms in hands too.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Yes,Restless legs syndrome can involve hands also, sometimes. It may have similar symptoms in hands as legs. So,it has to be observed whether you will develop pain too or not,in hands. It can't be precisely told at this point of time.

Dystonia is a name given to sustained muscle contractions giving rise to abnormal twisting postures or movements. But classically,Dystonia disappears during sleep. So,it is not likely dystonia that you are having.

Rest neuropathy, hydrocephalus and thyroid disorder don't appear to be connected and it is difficult to comment on the worsening until precise etiopathological diagnosis of these is not clear. So,Possibly I can make a better impression if you give further details.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
