Question: Hi,

I am getting red spots on my skin. I do not know if it is beause of sun, as I work from home and do nt go out in sun much.

I took Claritin as prescribed for for allergy and it reduced. However, the spots recurred as soon as I stopped the medication. Sometimes, the spots come overnight. They are not painful, and dont feel like acne..

Brief Answer:
A photo of the red spots and following information is required first...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Can you please send a photo of the red spots you are getting on your skin?

Next, did the red spots appeared before or after starting Clindamycin? By the way, was Clindamycin prescribed orally or topically?

Do you sweat a lot when working apart exposing to the sun?

Does your work require to be in contact with certain allergens: chemicals? dust? or any other?

Thank you!

Hi Doctor,

I have uploaded the pictures. I use Clindamycin topical. I have been using Clindamycin for the past 3 months. The red spots are more recent.. Have been there for about 3-4 weeks on and off..

I dont sweat much - I do desk job. I do work out regularly, but immediately eash my face afterward.. I wash my face twice daily with face wash.. Apply toner. I apply moisturiser once a day, during the day..

I have attached 3 pictures..

Brief Answer:
Allergy reaction;do not expose to sunlight after applying face products...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Thank you for providing the requested photos and information.

I have gone through them and I can admit that they seem to be due to allergy reaction to any of the topical agents you are using over your skin:
- toner
- moisturizer
- face wash

if you have changes any of the brands recently.
Topical Clindamycin delayed allergy reaction is another possible cause.

I advise to stop using all the face things for a few days, and use Claritin.

Once the rash is cleared, then, started using the face products one by one. Let's say, start clindamycin cream and wait for a few more days to see if the rash will start showing up. If not, got for each of other face products until you'll identify what's causing the allergy.

I also advise not to expose to direct sunlight after applying the face products.

Hope it helped!
