Suggest Treatment For Red Rashes On The Stomach

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Oct 2015
Question: I had a red rash on my stomach area after a cottage weekend on a lake, not itchy at all, I dont feel it at all. it's just red and around belly button. Ffter one week it is turning brown, and reduced a bit in terms of quantity. but still there. I put a very light hydrocortizone cream (0.5%) as per my pharmacist advice.
it's been 2 weeks now, and I'm really wondering what is it and if it is going to stay like that or disappear. if it could be a symptom of something bigger.

Fungal infetion

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph
The fine rashes on your abdomen are due to a mild fungal infection, while the bump like rashes are seborrheic keratosis, caused due to blocked sebaceous glands.
I treat such cases with topical antifungal agents like clotrimazole cream.
This can give you relief from fine rashes while the bump like rashes need to be removed using radiofrequency ablation.
You can meet a dermatologist to get these removed.
Just relax both these conditions are harmless and completely curable.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
