default
Posted on Tue, 15 Nov 2016
Question: Hey dr,

I have had this red mark on the inside of my right thumb (I have attached a picture). I was holding my camera last night for 3 hours filming an event and the inside part of my thumb was constantly rubbing up against the rubber grip which I also have attached a picture of you can see the grip on the left side. Now its all red on that side and burns what can I do to help it heal quicker and stop the burning? I had to use my camera again today so it made it a bit more worse.

Kind Regards,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Topical analgesics will help

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir.

I have worked through your attached pics.

This is most likely to be friction rub.

Apply analgesic VOVERAN GEL (Diclofenac) and do intermittent ice application every 2 hours.

This should be enough to improve symptoms and speed up recovery.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to you.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.
