Question: Hi doc, my baby is 3 months and 13 days old. she has some allergy rashes on her head, hand etc, her doc had advised to apply dermacalm lotion and give atarax drops. My question is, is it safe to give the Atarax drops?

Atarax is an antihistamine used as an antiallergic.

It can be used across all age group of patients.

For paediatric age group its available as drops.

In very rare cases, a person can be allergic to atarax itself. You may give just 1 or 2 drops to begin with, wait for sometime and then give the prescribed dose.

Atarax may cause some drowsiness.
