Brief Answer:
Psoriasis may relapse, howeve, effective Rx usually clears skin involvement

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have taken note of your query and i have understood it.

Unfortunately there is no permanent cure for psoriasis.

Treatment varies according to severity and extent of skin involvement.
Appropriate treatment would usually induce disease into remission i.e clear up skin involvement, however, psoriasis may relapse after seemingly complete cure.

Precipitating factors like infection, drugs, winter season, pregnancy, alcohol, mental stress etc can induce or flare the disease process.
These should be addressed.

Topical treatment is usually reserved for limited skin involvement.
Topical treatment options include emollients, topical steroids with or without salicylic acid, vitamin D analogues, coal tar, dithranol etc.

For extensive involvement i.e patients with more than 20% of body surface area involvement, oral/ systemic treatment is required in addition to topical treatment.

Systemic treatment options include oral Or injectable methotrexate, oral acitretin, oral cyclosporin, phototherapy etc.

Regards
