Brief Answer:
You can retract manually or surgically, see below

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Thanks for writing to us.

Your problem is called phimosis (inability to retract the foreskin behind the glans in males). In many young males, this problem causes lot of stress. But you do not have to worry much as it is easily treatable.

Two types of approach:

Manual: In this you need to apply any clean(boil and allow oil to cool) oil beneath the foreskin and try to retract slowly foreskin behind the glans 2-3 mm everyday. You can stop retraction when you feel pain and do it on other day.Other over the counter cream is also available.
If this approach can not help surgical treatment is the best approach as below.

Surgical: Circumcision is the procedure. It is a day care procedure and you can resume work on next day.

Try manual approach first and if not succeed in one month , go for circumcision.
So just consult surgeon and get rid of your problem.
Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Hello,

Thanks for follow up question.

Any cream containing Betamethasone 0.1 or 0.05% can help. But steroid cream itself has side effects. It is rather more effective in case of children than adults. It works by reducing inflammation beneath foreskin and manual gradual retraction feasible. However it can cause infection,fibrosis/tearing of foreskin if not used under medical supervision.Still, they can be effective if used safely and smartly with the help of a physician that is familiar with your particular phimosis case.

Medicines do not have any direct roll.Any NSAIDs group of medicine like diclofenac, brufen can help by reducing inflammation while you do manual stretching.

You can consult surgeon who will examine your phmosis' degree and severity and then guide you in detail about treatment approach.

Hope this will help you,
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
