Suggest Treatment For Painful Weak Legs

Posted on Fri, 18 Jul 2014
Question: I am 92 years old. I have very much pain and leg weakness when first arising, but continuing at lesser amounts as I move around. Is there likely to be anything that can be done for me? I have taken Cilostazol for improved blood flow which does not seem to help.

Brief Answer:
Intra-articular steroid injections

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Cilostazol is a best medications which works on long run. It does improve the blood supply which is very essential in a degenerating bone tissue (age related).

If the pain is unbearable you can take series of Intra-articular steroid injections. These not only reduce the pain but also help in regeneration of the joint tissue. Do discuss the same with your orthopedician.

Wish you good health.

regards,
