Suggest Treatment For Painful Pimple Like Sores On The Face

Question: I have two painful zit-like sores on my face. I am 59 years old. One is just below my eye and the other near my ear. I have tried to get rid of them in the usual way, scrubbing, alcohol, lancing the zit, but they are big and painful. Any suggestions?

Brief Answer:
Oral & topical antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to take oral and topical antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines.
I would recommend you to take tablet cephalexin 500 mg twice daily for 5-7 days and apply neosporin ointment or mupirocin ointment on the affected areas twice daily for 7 days.
For pain take anti inflammatory medicines like tablet ibuprofen.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

Dr Asmeet
