default
Posted on Mon, 18 Jul 2016
Question: Hi, i had an argument with my husband a couple of days ago and somehow he ended up punching me in face twice. I immediately got two huge bumps on each side of face, now my left eye is really black, my vision is foggy and there's some blood in white part of that eye. Not too mention that I have a constant headeache, stomachache, neck tenderness, and feel very tired... Should I worry?

Brief Answer:
I would suggest you to see eye specialist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query,

Painful bumps or swelling over face could be due to soft tissue injury as result of sudden blunt hit of hand.

You can continue to take over the counter pain killer (like Excedrin) and ice pack application over the face to reduce swelling.

Tab. serratiopeptidase 10 mg may also be added for faster improvement of swelling, your PCP may prescribe you.

We would expect that bumps or swelling will gradually reduce with this symptomatic treatment. However,if bumps or swelling persist even after 3 or 4 days of symptomatic treatment,I would suggest you to go for X-ray scan to rule out fracture over the bones of face.

Take antacids (pantoprazole 40 or rabeprazole 20mg) which is available over the counter for symptomatic relief of your stomachache.

Topical pain killer get or cream (like volini or voltaren) will also be helpful for neck tenderness, to be applied directly over neck muscles.

As a I physician,I would more concern with blood in white part of eye and foggy vision and for which I would suggest you to see eye specialist for complete eye check up to rule out an internal eye injury.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
