Brief Answer:
Upload a picture

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Completely asymptomatic, bleeding bumps in the pubic area could be Angiokeratoma of the vulva. They are uncommon, purple in color.

-Do they bleed a lot even on minimal trauma?I mean is the bleeding out of proportion than what is expected from a small spot?
-Can you upload a picture for conformation? The picture is required for diagnostic purpose.

Apart from angiokeratomas, other likely possibilities are STD's like genital herpes Or genital warts: In genital herpes the lesions are usually painful or burn and they are erosions/ulcers rather than bumps. Herpes is acquired sexually. The clinical presentation is fairly characteristic to be diagnostic on morphology. It presents as well defined erosions which may be few or numerous. In recurrent genital herpes symptoms are mild/not bothersome and may sometimes go unnoticed.

Genital warts on the other hand are raised/growths with a cauliflower like surface. They are also asymptomatic and may bleed on trauma e.g shaving the pubic hair. The morphology is sufficiently characteristic to be diagnosed clinically.

I would prefer if you can upload a digital photograph of the bumps for a confirmatory diagnosis. Treatment would be guided by the correct diagnosis

this is what it looks like. I was tested for herpes in July after having unprotected sex 30 days before the test. it was a blood test. these are raised bumps. this is also on the upper public area. not close to the vagina in the pubic hair. I have had folliculitus a few months ago. the skin also seems warm to the touch.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of herpes; Upload a better image

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for the image. This is certainly not an angiokeratoma for sure.

The lesions look like they are erosions/ulcers to me (breaks in the skin)!! aren't they?? The one on the lower-right side of the image is clearly an erosion. Regarding the other one in the center, I cannot make that out very clearly from the photograph whether it i an erosion or just a raised bump. It is hidden behind pubic hair. Can you upload more?(preferably 2 or 3).

What was the test result for herpes? Was it IgG or IgM.

Nevertheless, herpes can occur in the pubic area as well, not necessarily close to the vagina.

Folliculitis is usually painful to touch and there may be a little pus in them/ pus point.

Brief Answer:
Molluscum comes into picture

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Ok. Much better Images. They are definitely raised. The lower one is still intact.

Herpes is out. I hope your test was negative (IgG for herpes)

I would keep a possibility of Molluscum contagiosum assuming that the bleeding was only the result of scratching. Few more questions

-Are they hard/firm like a grain when you press and roll between fingers?
-Can you see a central pale colored dent/umbilication/pit on the intact lesion? In photograph it looks like it is but it could just be light skinning on the surface.

sorry! yes my test was negative! it came back at <0.2 I can't really get a good look at them unfortunately and was just relying on pictures. yes, the bleeding was a result of my accidentally scratching it. the smaller of the two is too small to tell at the moment if it is firm like the other one seems to be.

Brief Answer:
Molluscum

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Fine. So that means the other one which you scratched was firm? Molluscum lesions are firm pearly white nodules with a central pit or indentation. Since molluscum seems to be the most likely diagnosis, I would suggest CO2 Laser vaporization or Radiofrequency cautery. It is an infection and better to get rid off it. You may transmit the infection to your sexual partner. This is the way you must have got it yourself too.

Tell me about your sexual history. Do you have single or multiple sexual partners?
