Suggest Treatment For Pain While Having An Abscessed Tooth

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jan 2017
Question: I had a toothache last Friday, which never went away even with medication. I began to see some swelling yesterday, so I began to gargle with saltwater, peroxide, and also with mouthwash. I have also been icing it which has not helped much. I woke up this morning to see one side of my face is fully swollen. I'm thinking I have an absess. What do you think?

Brief Answer:
Yes, looks like Tooth abscess..

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your explanation and image attached it is appearing like Dental abscess only..
Dental abscess occurs when due to infection there is pus formation below the root tips of the tooth and the pus perforates the bone and gets accumulated in the soft tissues..

It will never resolve completely with medication and you should consult an Oral Physician or an Endodontist and get evaluated..
As x ray of the tooth will be done..

If tooth can be saved Root Canal Treatment can be done..
If there is gross decay extraction is advisable..

But before progressing towards treatment you will be given a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and Serratiopeptidases to reduce pain, infection and swelling..

Please write back for further queries..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
