Question: I got sick last spring and my dr ordered several test. Hida scan ,2 ct scans were done at emergency room and this fall I had a nuclear stress test on my heart. All test were negative.
I now have pain in my middle back, tailbone area radiating down my rt leg and groin area. I get nauseous a lot and have extreme fatigue.. Could I have been exposed to to much radiation causing these new problems?

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

First of all I want to reassure you that the scans that you had in the past do not represent a significant amount of cumulative radiation which would provide any degree of threat to your general health.

I think the symptoms you are experiencing now are independent of those which generated the concern previously.

With the symptoms you are having now it would be reasonable for you to continue to follow up with your primary care physicianand possibly consider some type of physical therapy for some of the symptoms you are experiencing.

I can say with reasonable certainty that the symptoms you're having right now I have nothing to do with the previous scans what you had in the past.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
