Suggest Treatment For Pain In Kidney Area And Difficulty Urinating

default
Posted on Tue, 12 Jul 2016
Question: I have been experiencing pain in my left kidney area all day. No fever or difficulty urinating. I have been drinking water all day and have taken cranberry supplements. The pain is intermittent but in the same spot. If it doesn't get worse is it okay to go to bed or do I need to go to the ER?

It has been more than an hour since I posted my question. You quickly processed my payment for an answer, but I have yet to receive one. I am wondering if this is just a scam to get my credit card number. If this is a legitimate service please respond. So far this has not been the "great experience" your customer service dept. wishes for me. It would be helpful to let your clients know approximately how long they will be waiting for a response (an hour, the next day, what?)

Brief Answer:
Muscle strain, analgesics and investigation to rule out kidney stones

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome.
I have gone through your query and do understand your concern.
There are two possibilities that you can discuss with your local doctor. I'll briefly mention them.

1. Muscle spasm and
2. Kidney stone .

For muscle spasm : You should take NSAID like Aceclofenac with muscle relaxants like Chlorzoxazone/ Tizanidine twice daily for 3-5 days based on the response. You can ask your local doctor for prescription of this agent. Along with this hot compression and analgesic gel or spray will be beneficial.

For kidney stones: first of all it need to be confirmed, for this purpose I would have suggested you for KUB X-ray and ultrasound abdomen, based on the investigation report one can decide on the management plan. So for this kindly visit urologist for further help.

Hope this helps
I'll be glad to help you with your further queries.
Take care.
