Question: I cut my thumb with a knife 16 days ago and it seemed to heal but now it is very painful and swollen and incision area is white and hurts to the touch. What do I do about it?

Hi XXXXXXX welcome to HCM,

I think you need to see a doctor for a course of anti inflammatory and antibiotic drugs.
You also need to check your blood sugar if you have not done so recently.

Till you can see your doctor, you can take Omeprazole 20 mg twice a day, and Ibuprofen 200 mg twice a day.
Also take a good B complex with vitamin C and Zinc.
Dress the wound with a good antibiotic cream mixed with EPSOM salt. This will reduce the swelling.
You can revert back with further questions.
