Brief Answer:
thrush treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Its very important that you first treat the underlying factor for thrush. Some of the precipitating factors for thrush is the use of recent antibiotics, steroid use, diabetes mellitus, HIV AIDS. If you are on some antibiotics, if its not needed particularly high for that condition, discontinue them. If you are on inhaledsteroids again may be for asthma, you may need to use a spacer. If you are diabetic which i Think you are considered the drug you use cymbalta, you need to control your sugar tightly. If you don't control these underlying factor, the treatment of thrush may not be effective. If you HIV you need to be started on antiretroviral therapy
The thrush treatment starts with nystatin swish and swallow. If it doesn't get better with it, you may need an oral antifungal . Please consult your physician since its a prescription drug. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
thrush treatment.

Detailed Answer:
For a mild case of thrush, the doctor may prescribe an antifungal mouthwash (nystatin) or lozenges (clotrimazole ) for short-term use.

For more severe cases of thrush , you may need stronger systemic medications, such as fluconazole or itraconazole . For severe or resistant thrush, amphotericin B may be prescribed.
