Suggest Treatment For Muscular Pain In The Arm

default
Posted on Fri, 29 Jul 2016
Question: I have pain in my right arm that started in the brachioradialis and then radiated to the lower bicep and then to the shoulder over the span of about 3 - 5 months . those are the specific places that the pain is felt, more so when lifting something. I don't know if it is tendonitis or something else and I've visited my doctor with basically no result. There is also a difference is muscle size between the bicep/tricep area and the shoulder as well(right side smaller). I tried the RICE(rest, ice, compression, elevate) method for about a week or two but nothing changed for the better. any suggestions?

Brief Answer:
Muscle pain, analgesic and muscle relaxant

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
This seems like muscular pain probably due to stretching or spasm.
Is there any history of trauma, lifting heavy objects like bag, suitcase, bucket?
Any exercise in gym?
Is there any fever, swelling over shoulder?
You can take pain killers with muscle relaxant like Aceclofenac or Naproxen or etoricoxib with tizanidine or thiocholchicoside for 3-5 days based on the response. You can ask your local doctor for prescription of this agent. Along with this cold compression with ice packs and analgesic gel or spray will be beneficial. Also give rest and avoid any activities that aggravates the pain. This will help you.
If it persists or intensity increases, I would suggest you to see orthopaedician for examination and further help

Hope this information helps
Take care.

I always feel a pain in those 3 areas, just more so when lifting something. No history of trauma, lifting heavy objects occasionally. No fever or swelling. If it persists in going to see an orthopedic doctor to get to the root of it. Thank you.
