Question: I am a 62 yr old female and have been experiencing pain/muscle spasms in my left chest near the shoulder followed by blurry vision and I start to pass out but have never passed out. There is also pain in my center chest just below my sternum. This has been happening on and off for 6 months and is getting more frequent. I just got back from a 25 minute walk and was standing in the kitchen when it happened again.

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Yoru epigastric pain discomfort is attributed to two things. Metformin induced GI distress which is very common and rather helps in losing weight by causing anorexia and reducing meal intake . Second the diabetes mellitus on its own causes diabetic gastroparesis and causes such pain. At age of 62 i would want to rule out any heart involvement as inferior wall of heart may give pain in abdomen epigastrium area. So get to doctor, have baseline work up and modify diet and lifestyle and hope for the best.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
