Brief Answer:
depends upon the cause

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
What has your doctor said is the cause of the upper arm pain? Nerve? Muscle? Tendonitis? Bursitis?
In order to treat pain you need to know the cause of the pain. If it is muscle cramping then drinking plenty of water and taking a multivitamin/multimineral supplement may help. If it is a bursitis or tendonitis then resting it and using heat and stretches may help.
If it is coming from an arthritis then medications or physical therapy may be helpful.
If it is from a spinal nerve problem to your arms then chiropractic care may be helpful.
in any case work with your doctor to find the cause then an appropriate treatment can be planned. There definitely should be a way to get you out of pain.

My doctor felt that the muscle pain was from taking the lasix. She has perscribed no medication for this. I have ad this pain now for longer than two months with alot of weakness in my arms. Will this pain ever go away, it is keeping me awake at night, I'm now averaging 3 hrs. of sleep a night.

Brief Answer:
here are some things to try

Detailed Answer:
If it were just from the lasix it should be resolved by now. Here are some things to try. If they do not relieve your pain over the next few weeks then see your doctor again and get a referral to physical therapy.
Drink at least 2 liters of water daily. Take 1000mg of vitamin C twice a day. Take 1000 mg of fish oil twice a day. Take a liquid multivitamin/multimineral supplement daily.
Take a vitamin B50 (combination of b vitamins) each morning.
Do not drink any drinks with artificial sweeteners. Do not drink any caffeine or alcohol. Do some sort of warm soak (in a tub or shower) twice a day to your arms. Do 30 minutes of walking daily.
I hope you get some relief soon
