Suggest Treatment For Itchy Blister Near Anus

Posted on Fri, 29 May 2015
Question: Hello,

My name is XXXX and I'm chatting here today because I'm not sure if I have a STD/HIV or not. Earlier I started to notice an irritation around my anus. I didn't pay much attention to it, until I used the restroom and had to wipe myself. When wiping myself, the irritation really started to hurt. I then decided to look into a mirror and check out the situation. When I did, I noticed what appeared to be a very small blister (don't know if it's one or not) and it has me very worried.

I can't get a high quality picture but the location of it is on the anus, somewhat close to the hole. I have now also been experiencing a burning sensation on my upper thigh and around my ankle of the same leg. I have no idea if the blister/burning sensation are related, but would like any answers that you could give me. Thank you for taking time to read this and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Brief Answer:
Peri-anal abscess

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back,
I am sorry to know about your current problems.

I have seen the picture and after your description of it's location i know have quite much of an idea what it could be.

It looks inflamed red and swollen up and as you said it itches alot.

MY OPINION:
This in my opinion is a Peri-anal abscess, I will encourage you to search peri-anal abscess on the internet and tell me if that is what you think you have ? it will really help you see by yourself.

Treatment of peri-anal abscess ranges from medicine to surgery. By surgery i mean a cut i given and pus is grained out.

As far as the size i can guess from the picture is concerned , it seems that you don't have a very big abscess at the moment and hopefully it will be treated with simple medication or at the very maximum it will need a cut to be given in it to drain the puss followed by antibiotic cover.

TREATMENT:

1) Pain killers.

2) Keeping a good hygiene.

3) Antibiotics like Augmentin 1G I usually give to my patients.

4) If it doesn't get better then an incision is given in it and it is drained.

Your burning in leg may or may not be related but first we have to consider treating this swelling then after that if burning still stays there then we can get to that problem.

END NOTE:

I would suggest you to visit your doctor preferably a general surgeon immediately before things get worse, you wont want it's size to get bigger.

Don't panic it can be treated easily.Stay blessed.

Have a safe weekend.

You after your search are always welcome to ask me more questions .

Regards.
