I am so sorry to hear about this ingrown toenail. Its management depends on the extend on the ingrown nail and whether there is an active ongoing infection or not. The management strategies are generally as follows:

1. Trimming the ingrowing nail and treating the infection.
2. Trimming it and lifting up the nail from the surrounding tissue to allow for wound healing.
3. Doing a minor surgery in most severe cases to remove the affected side of the nail totally to allow it to grow again.
