Question: My Nephew, 7 yrs has been suffering from fever for the past 3 days. His temperature is usually high at night. The results of blood and urine tests are attached.

Please help us understand what are the precautions/follow up tests to be undergone. Does the reports imply the onset of dengue fever? Please advise.

Thanks in Advance!

Brief Answer:
normal reports

Detailed Answer:
Looks like a viral infection. In children it takes time to cure from viral infections. If the fever still persists for 2 more days, you can get the malarial parasite and widal test done to rule out malaria and typhoid.
Give him more fluids, and keep well hydrated.
Do tepid sponging if the temperature is more than 100 DF.
Ask him to take rest in non febrile period.

Take care.
