Question: I filled this form already but it appears the Dr. didn't read it as he suggested drugs I am already taking, what I'm taking isn't working, my BP is around 207/78.

Brief Answer:
You require to add a second medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome.
I understand your concern.
You have a high systolic blood pressure and Ramipril is not enough to control it. In my practice, I add a second medicine. With two medicines my patients are usually able to get adequate control of blood pressure.
You should also be investigated to see if there is any correctable cause for your blood pressure and to check for any damage caused to vital organs by the high blood pressure.

I want to thank you for your answer. The problem is I have been taking Ramipril and amlodipine for about a year and a half and still my BP is 207/78. What other drug could I try instead of what I am taking now? I really feel I am being a nuisance but I'm concerned that perhaps I should be on different medication totally as apparently what I'm on isn't working. Grateful, XXXX.

Brief Answer:
I have suggested an add on medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Welcome and never consider yourself to be a nuisance . I have volunteered for this service to help people like you.
As I mentioned before, one medicine will not be sufficient in your case. The medicine I would add for people like you would be a diuretic like Chlorthalidone. If that is not giving the desired results, I may use a beta blocker. Both are inexpensive and time tested with minimal side effects.
