Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Muscle Cramps While On Mobic For Arthritis

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Jun 2017
Question: A good friend of mine was put on Mobic for arthritis about six weeks ago. After taking it about 12 days, she began having headaches, muscle cramps, and a rash when she was exposed to sunlight. She stopped taking it and has been off it for a month. She has had rashes with severe itching intermittently ever since. When she gets hot or takes a hot shower she begins itching and a rash appears on different parts of her body. She had had the rash on one arm, once on her legs and feet, sometimes on her back. The rash looks like hives. She was getting a pedicure and while her feet were soaking in hot water, she broke out in a rash on her feet, began sweating all over, and passed out. Her blood tests were normal, her blood pressure and blood sugar were normal. Could the Mobic still be in her system and causing these bizarre symptoms after she's been off it for several weeks? That is the only change in medicine or environment that has occurred.

Brief Answer:
Does not seem to be related to Mobic

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

Mobic remains in one's body for maximum 48 hours after the last dose. It is almost a month now after stopping Mobic. So there is no chance of Mobic being in her system now.

It sounds more of an allergy of something in her surrounding or may be in her food.

Taking anti allergic medicines like allegra or cetrizine can help.

But to avoid this happening in future, the causative allergen must be sorted out and avoided.

Apply local soothening creams over the lesions for faster recovery.

If this does not help, consult a dermatologist for further treatment.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.
