Question: In the fall of 1971 I went to a doctor to check if pregnant he didn't think I was and gave me something to start my period. I was pregnant my daughter has had health issues seizures migraine headaches and I am trying to find out if what they gave me could have done this and if anything can be done. I do think that the time he said what I took would not hurt a baby if pregnant just start me if not. Can you help me find out what might have been given to me

Brief Answer:
We need to know what he gave you. You may also ask the pharmacists!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Though it is possible that drugs taken during pregnancy can harm the fetus, we need to know the exact drug that you were given. This way, I can review it thoroughly and inform you on what the possible consequences on an unborn baby would have been. Because many different drugs can be given, it is clearly difficult to weigh in without knowing the exact medication.

I will suggest you double your efforts: Doctors office/hospital and the pharmacy that served the drug. Hopefully, they still have these medical records securely kept for you.

I hope to hear back from you on this. Am so sorry about al your daughter is experiencing. However, if these conditions are linked to the medication you took back then, there is just nothing that can be done to reverse the damage at this time. Main reason looking back is to understand what happened and whether it might help understand her current state and really not that it will help in treating her any better.

I wish you and your daughter well. I await further details from you and especially when you lay hands on the said medications.
