Suggest Treatment For Hand Tremors And Tingling Sensation In Mouth With Abdominal Pain

Question: Dear doctor,

I started to have a tremor in my hands since 2 years. The beginning of this 2015 my head also started to shake and since 4 months I developped one in my legs aswell. This is very annoying and others notice this.

I also started to have tingling sensation on the left lower side of my mouth. My left lower leg is more swollen than my right one, same for my left cheeck in my face.

Since a few months I also notice strange smells, but if I ask others they don't smell it. Those are unpleasant smells.

Last month I again started to have pain in my left leg and arm and also I had this strange feeling in my head. When I do Romberg test it's positive and also the test where you put one foot in front of another on a straight line I can't keep balance. On Sunday the 14th of december at 3pm I started to have the feeling like I became very much drunk, allthough I don't drink alcohol at all. My friend was talking to me but I was absent, I couldn't pay attention and also my friend saw there was something wrong with my reaction. I left that friends house and drove home and still I don't know how I managed driving all the way home. The left upperpart of my face was feeling strange. Like I had a local anaesthesia. I went to bed and next day I felt much more clear in my head but still I felt like there was something wrong.

I consulted a neurologist he did an EEG he said it turned out ok. Although i really felt very very bad during that test. It was with flash light and provocation of hyperventilation.
Het told me that I am suffering from chronic hyperventilation based on anxiety. He prescribed me Xanax.

I'm not a depressed person, I don't believe I'm having any chronic hyperventilation and I'm not having any anxiety. Ok my life is not very relaxing but I know I'm not depressed so I didn't take any Xanax.

Today a new symptom came just out of the blue. I'm not stressed out or something I just came down from the stairs and suddenly I had this very loud ringing in my left ear, I had a full feeling in my ear and it was like my hearing was gone and at the same moment I felt like a very bad pain in my stomach and like I was going to vomit. It all took less than 5 minutes than I became better again and now I'm feeling a very strang feeling in my head and I have to concentrate to focus my eyes so I can see if I don't focus it's like more blured vision.

Could you please tell me what I have to do because I really feel like the neurologist didn't take me serious and for sure I'm not depressed, don't have a chronic hyperventilation and neither I have anxiety.
Can a chronic hyperventilation be shown with a pH measurement of the blood?

Thank you for your feedback,

with kind regards,
xxxxxxxxx

Brief Answer:
Provide reports and clinical details

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxx,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Such wide and varied symptoms do not localise to a particular region of brain. But in view of symptoms of balance disturbances, dizziness, hearing symptoms, pain abdomen a brain MRI should be done to rule out any brain lesions. EEG is not positive in most cases and has to be repeated if symptoms suggestive of seizures occurs.
Other less likely possibility may be migraine with aura if there is previous history of migraine.
After ruling out organic causes the last possibility may be anxiety disorder.
Sometimes apparent cause of anxiety is not present and symptoms appear unknowingly. You can take anti-anxiety drugs to look for any benefit.
In meantime get investigated like MRI brain, blood examination sugar, thyroid profile, renal and liver function test with calcium, vitamin D3 and serum alkaline phosphate.
Review again with reports.
Provide any other details regarding previous illness or medications.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
