Suggest Treatment For Greenish Vaginal Discharge With Foul Smell

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015
Question: For the last week or so I've been experiencing air pockets from my vagina, followed by a greenish discharge that has really bad odor. Usually happens after I pee and I begin to walk about and it'll just pocket out and this has never happened before. I haven't experienced any cramps or pain in peeing.

Brief Answer:
Sign of vaginal infection, vaginal discharge testing to proceed

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concern.

A greenish discharge from vagina is indicating vaginal infection although you might not feel any cramps.

A further examination of vaginal discharge is advised to determine the right cause, i.e.:
- protozoa (trichomonas)?
- bacteria (gonorrhoea or chlamydia )?

You might need to take oral medications and local vaginal ovules depending on tests results.

Meanwhile, please:
- avoid sexual intercourse until improvement
- keep good vaginal hygiene

Hope it was of help!

Is there any other way one could contract gonorrhoea or chlamydia, other than through sexual contact? Because I've never had sexual intercourse, but I'm unsure if one could get either of those from maybe a public bathroom or something of the sorts? Sorry for the stupid question..

Brief Answer:
You are right ;trichomonas infection can be spread otherwise

Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,

If no sexual intercourse, then, most probably it could be due to trichomonas infection.

You are right, trichomonas can be contracted through sharing bathroom utensils like towels, toilet seats, etc.

Get the advised tests done in order to determine the final diagnosis and get proper treatment as soon as possible.

All the best!
