Suggest Treatment For Fever And Sudden Fatigue

Question: Im suffering from fever (100F) and cold from this morning. Suffered from sudden fatigue two days back. My parents are worried about me as it is swineflu season here. Do i need to consult doctor immediatley regarding this ?

Hi and thanks for your query.

It may just be other type of flu. Even if it is swine flu, your case seems to be mild category A case (mild fever and sore throat). Ministry of health and family welfare has suggested three categories for swine flu. The category A people do not need antiviral medicine. You should see a doctor now and again in 24 - 48 hours. No testing is required for mild cases. Such a person should restrict oneself at home and do not go near any other person.

Most people recover from it in a few days.

If your sore throat is bad and fever is high then you may be category B. This category people require antivirals and home isolation.

Let me know if you have noticed any other symptoms apart from these.
