Question: I am taking Xorelto 20mg and Nifedipine 90mg with Metoprolol 25mg for the last 7 years, after a stroke I had that paralyzed my right side. 3 months ago I had a severe UTI and was prescribed Bactrim DS with Flomax, that did not help much, so I went to hospital and emergency Bactrim DS intravenous was given 3 times. At home, the UTI returned and other intensive Bactrim DS I took for 30 days, now after finishing the treatment, I had blood in urine and scared to go to the doctor or hospital, I took UTI-Clear remedy, that cleared the blood in urine but feel tired and the blood pressure is low, do I stop taking my b/p medication and / or do something else to help...

Brief Answer:
Genital bleeding is due to Xorelto

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

After going through your history, it is evident that you have an episode of genito urinary bleed with added UTI.

Patients who are on therapy with oral anti caogulants like Xerelto will have decreased clotting capacity of blood , so this is the reason why you have an episodes of blood in the urine.

As you have to be seen by specilized physician I suggest you to consult your treating physician and discuss your issues , you may require to change the dosage of Xerelto also.

coming to your B.P medications, continue using them until you see your treating doctor as the adjustment should be done carefully.

If you still have any urinary problem better get done culture and sensitivity which guides you the correct antibiotic.

I am afraid to take my B/P medication since I had 111/58-p 80, and can go lower?
Same time, this meds can not be stopped cold, we heared that even the Flomax is dangerous.
Please advise, thank you, XXXXXXX

Can I cut in 2 the Nifedipine and Metoprolol so is not the dosage, but still is some

Brief Answer:
dont be panic .your B.P its not too low to concern

Detailed Answer:
Well,
If you have any active bleeding - like blood in the urine you should stop the Xerelto right away.

second thing is you dont worry about your blood pressure , its not too much low to be worried. If the pressure drops below 90/70mm of Hg should be concerned.

Idea of taking the half of the current B.P pills is justified and proceed with that.
Mean while to maintain normal pressure keep drinking good amount of water and take good diet.

This regime can help you until you see your doctor
