Brief Answer:
CBT is needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Electra complex is a condition in which the defense mechanisms are repression and identification. In this disorder the girl adapts so that she identifies her mother and she has a competition for sexual desire with her mother. If the conflict is not resolved, several sexual disorders may occur. Correct diagnosis is very important in this regard, because misguided therapy may result in a disaster.

The treatment is cognitive behavior therapy, or psychosexual therapy addressing sexual dysfunction or emotional blocks in which the core belief of the patient is to be identified as well as the linked reaction and then treated accordingly. Only active listening and intuitive intervening along with reflective discussion in approximately 8-12 sessions, each lasting for 45 min to 1 hr may solve the problem.

Medicine has very limited role and actually is for only supporting the treatment.

If you want to help the patient, please consult a local psychiatrist and a person trained in CBT. If you don't find a trained CBT specialist, you can take my appointment.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Tell her that you need to be examined

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX this is the easiest part in this circumstances. Please tell your wife that you are actually feeling lower than normal sexual desire and need to be evaluated by your doctor. Ask her to accompany you. The consultant would definitely talk with both of you jointly and separately. Then the discussion will go on. There is no medicine. And that is the magic of CBT and psychosexual therapy. Even a very stubborn patient won't even know initially that he or she is being treated. We help the patient realize that there is a problem. Then help her with the problem.
