Suggest Treatment For Dizziness, Lightheadedness, Nausea And Burning Feeling In Throat

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Sep 2015
Question: I have been on Pantaprozole for years to protect my stomach because of all the medications I take. I have been feeling dizzy, lightheaded and very nauseous and have a burning feeling at beginning of my throat. Bad taste in my mouth. My doctor switch me to XXXXXXX Lansoprazole 30mg. I take one first thing in the morning and don't eat for a half hour but after a week have had no relief. I sick of eating rice pudding ginger ale and crackers. Really hard to get into to the doctors so very busy.

Brief Answer:
endoscopy would be needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

although you haven't mentioned the drugs you're using (which would be helpful to me) I wouldn't blame the drugs for the burning feeling in the throat and perhaps also for the rest of the symptoms, although non-specific symptoms like "dizziness or lightheadedness" may occur with so many drugs.

Persistent nausea and a burning sensation in the throat are good reasons to do an upper gastrointestinal system endoscopy. A careful review of your current medications would be of utmost importance.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
