Suggest Treatment For Discomfort In Abdomen Caused By Indigestion

Question: Hi,

I have been feeling a little discomfort in my lower abdomen. This usually happens sometime after having a meal. It does not happen after every meal. Just sometimes. This feeling goes away by itself usually within 30 to 90 minutes. Sometimes it only happens once a day and other times it does not come back for a few days. I've noticed sometimes it only happens for a very short time period maybe around 10 minutes. It is very minor and sometimes not noticeable. Bowel movements are quite normal, there is no excess gas, no bloating, no constant burping, no heartburn or any burning in the stomach, appetite is completely normal, there is no pain in the stomach, no nausea, I don't feel overly full after eating, usually I eat quite a lot. I describe it as a slight discomfort and tend to burp a little more often when I feel this way, but it is usually sometime after a meal. As I said before, It goes away by itself but if I take an antacid (peptol bismol) it usually goes away with that as well.
I was sick with a virus a couple months ago and that is when this started but at that time it was present most of the day and I felt quite sick. Symptoms went away within a few weeks but this discomfort comes back once or twice a day still even if it is quite mild. If it is happening and I go to the gym, this usually makes it go away.
I was tested for H Pylori and that came back negative. Urine tests and blood tests were done and they were all normal. The doctor also performed a physical inspection of the abdomen. Someone suggested IBS as well.

My question is, can this be indigestion? When I went to my doctor she said that it probably is not indigestion since my symptoms don't really match that much with typical indigestion symptoms. She also doesn't think it is anything to worry about. I do say that it is very mild and does not bother me much.

worthwhile getting stools examined on three different days to look for any worm or parasite infection. likely it is post infectious IBS than indigestion.
can try taking a good bacteria probiotic preparation like vsl 3 available over the counter once a day for 10 days after consulting your physician.
