Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understood your concern.

Such pigmentation of lip can be due to number of reasons like any recent drug intake, application of some cosmetics or creams, idiopathic, excess lip licking, sun exposure, smoking, excess caffeine intake as in form of coffee or tea.

I would like to know the following details:
1) Any history of drug intake like antibiotics or pain killers prior to darkening of lips?
2) history of application of any cosmetics in the form of lip gloss etc.?
3) history of licking lips?
4) any history of smoking or excess tea /coffee?
5) Excess sun exposure?

Also kindly tell me if such pigmentation is associated with darkening of other mucosal surfaces like buccal mucosa, genital mucosa?

Kindly reply to my questions and attach a pic if possible so that i can help you to my best.
Stay healthy.
