Question: A friend of mine recently got his blood work done and everything appeared to be normal, but his immature granulocytes were above the normal range at 3H. His doctor is recommending a 3 month follow up for more blood work. He has frequent diarrhea, dizzy spells, minute seizures, and constantly has a yucky feeling. he is very skinny and cant gain weight and is hyper-active. At his physical, his heart beat was at 40 bpm. what should be the next plan of action? thanks. Gabe

Brief Answer:
Thyroid function tests & clinical assessment for seizure disorder required

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The differential count can be repeated after couple of months as suggested by your doctor to look for persistence or disappearance of immature granulocytes.
The symptoms of skinniness, inability to gain weight and hyper activeness could be due to thyroid abnormality.
I suggest you to get thyroid function tests done.
Frequent diarrhea could be due to infection. However, other possibilities like irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease also need to be ruled out.
Dizzy spells and nauseating feeling are non-specific symptoms and can be seen in number of conditions.
Minute seizures indicate a seizure disorder.

I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment and thus management.

Thanks and take care
