Suggest Treatment For Cough, Fever And Body Pain
Question: Dear Doctor,
I am suffering from cough and fever body pains since 2 weeks.I took Tab Augmentin Duo wice daily for 3 days and fever subsided.But my cough with sticky mucous continues.I took an expectorant cough syrup now and then.Cough with mucous difficult to cough out continue.It all started with cough,sneaze and soretroat 2 weeks back.Please advise correct line of treatment.Thanking you.

In my opinion you are having upper respiratory tract infection.
And still infection is there as you are having thick sputum production even after augmentin.
I advice you to continue total 7 days of augmentin Duo for 3 days.
Along with this try to follow these steps.
1. Drink plenty of fluids. Keep yourself hydrated.
2. Avoid oily and spicy food.
3. Warm saline gargles 5-6 times a day.
4. Start antihistamines like cetrizine 5 mg and antiinflammatory drugs twice daily.
5. Continue expectorant syrup.
