Brief Answer:
Please be patient. Irrespective of treatment it lasts for 5-7 days

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Irrespective of treatment it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. Some children are more prone to catching cold and recurrent episodes are seen. If your child is otherwise active and playful, I would not be concerned. If not, it would be a good idea to visit a doctor and to get the child evaluated (I understand that it is Sunday). However, I doubt if such a step would be needed.

You need to give steam inhalation to your child. It helps in reducing the congestion. Just sit with your child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapor will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief. Use Nasoclear Saline Nasal Drops in case of nose block. As of now continue to use Nasomist as well as Mucolite Drops.

Please be patient. It may take a few days for the recovery to occur. It should spontaneously resolve in 5-7 days.

Hopefully that would help. Feel free to write back in case of further queries.

Brief Answer:
Please be patient.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Mucolite is a mucolytic and is unlikely to give any side effects. In any case giving it for 5-7 days (or less) from start should be reasonable. Fourts B contains a number of B vitamins and can be given. There are other available brands which can be given and so you can go for some alternative (that has an acceptable taste). One among A to Z Drops / Bevon Drops / Zincovit Drops can be given as an alternative.

Regards
Brief Answer:
Occasionally it may linger

Detailed Answer:
Yes, sometimes it may linger for sometime. Continue the advised treatment. Steam inhalation is also very important. I hope that you would soon see an improvement.
