Brief Answer:
It seems like respiratory allergies, keep using anti allergic and inhalers

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!

Based on the history you have shared, it seems as if she is having long standing allergies or asthma hypersensitivity. It is difficult to locate an allergen in such young age however. The persistent coughing in abscence of anti histamines or mast cell stabilisers (the meds she is using) and it's repeated recurrence supports the diagnosis of allergies. However she also needs to be assessed for such chronic diseases like cystic fibrosis or congenital heart problems.

It is advisable to avoid chest discomfort or shortness of breath during such bouts that inhalers and montaigne shouldn't be quit as your first priority should be to get her out of this vulnerable period of early infancy in which kids are more prone to develop respiratory tract infections and such exacerbations can be dangerous and may lead to hospitalisations. Another good approach would be to make sure she should get flu and pneumonia vaccinations. Meanwhile salt therapy ot repeated neubilisations with saline steam should be given with more frequency during such episodes and avoid direct exposure to dust or cold. Don't use such clothing which sheds threads or have tendency as allergic triggers.

Keep a regular followup with a pediatrician and follow his advice as per any newness or persistance of the symptoms. Wishing your baby a healthy life ahead. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.

Thank You for your Answer, I can understand that we have to continue medicine and inhaler but any method to find out exact root cause of this problem any tests viz. X-ray or any other tests , Once I did for tuberculosis but results was negative. My worry is the side effect of Montelukast for long term use. Please suggest me how to avoid this medicine or any alternate medicine can be given.

Brief Answer:
She needs to have work up for few other conditions

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Thanks for sharing more details. Like I mentioned earlier that such long standing chest infections evoke the need to have work up for cystic fibrosis, or other conditions relating to heart which may lead to wet lungs. But still most likely cause is allergic in her case as it is responding well to monteleukast and as far as it's long term usage and side effects are concerned, physicians always weigh risks vs benefits and suggest to continue only if they think that benefits out weight the side effects. Alternatives like zaferleukast or chromolyn will also be associated with more or less same side effects but since as you have mentioned that she is responding well to monteleukast, their is no point switching it in abscence of some serious side effect. Regards.
